Materials I'm Loving Right Now
May 2026 · 5 min read
A running list of what's finding its way into nearly every project right now — the materials that feel honest, age well, and only get better with time.
Lime-wash plaster. There's a depth to a plaster wall that paint can't touch. It moves with the light and softens a whole room. I'm using it on feature walls and, increasingly, everywhere.
Unlacquered brass. It tarnishes. It lives. A faucet that looks a little used after a year is a faucet that looks like it belongs to a real home, not a showroom.
Vintage wool and bouclé. Texture is how warmth gets into a space. I'm layering nubby, imperfect weaves against smoother surfaces so the eye has somewhere to rest and somewhere to be surprised.
